When we are born we have no concept of what we are. However, as we grow up our
sense of self becomes more complex.

Somewhere down the road, the American-Thai children might have many questions regarding their unique ethnic identity. They might become confused growing up learning two different cultures from their parents' different perspectives -- western and eastern. They might speak two languages with better understanding in one more than another. They might have been introduced to two or more different religions. They might speak different
languages from their parent's native language.
They might wish to become more like most children in their society.
บนหนทางที่ก้าวเดิน.... อาจมีหลายครั้งหลายคราวที่เด็ก "อเมริกัน-ไทย" มีคำถามเกี่ยวกับรูปลักษณ์ของตนเอง ซึ่งมีความแตกต่างและเป็นเอกลักษณ์ เด็กๆ อาจรู้สึกสับสนในเรื่องของความแตกต่างของวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกและตะวันออก เด็กๆ อาจพูดได้สองภาษา โดยมีความเข้าใจภาษาใดภาษาหนึ่งได้ลึกซึ้งมากกว่าอีกภาษาหนึ่ง เด็กๆ อาจได้เรียนรู้หลายๆ ศาสนา เด็กๆ อาจเลือกใช้ภาษาที่ไม่ใช่ภาษาดั้งเดิมของพ่อแม่ บางทีเด็กๆ อาจจะต้องการเหมือนกับเพื่อนคนอื่นๆ ส่วนใหญ่ที่อยู่ในสังคมรอบๆ ตัวเขา
Our mission is to prepare the American-Thai children and their awareness to be proud of themselves and become more comfortable when being asked, "What are you?". They must know that they are special since they belong to two cultures from the mother's and father's heritage. They must know that there are many more children who share this unique ethnic identity.
"อเมริกัน-ไทย ดอท เน็ท" จะมอบให้สาระและความรู้แก่เด็กๆ อเมริกัน-ไทย เพื่อถือเป็นการเตรียมความพร้อม และให้เด็กๆ ได้มีความภาคภูมิใจในความเป็นตัวของตนเอง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งเมื่อเด็กๆ ถูกถามว่า "เธอเป็น (ชนชาติ) อะไร" เด็กๆ อเมริกัน-ไทย ควรตระหนักถึงความโชคดีของตนเองที่ได้มีโอกาสสัมผัสกับสองวัฒนธรรม ตลอดจนขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีของผู้ให้กำเนิด เด็กๆ อเมริกัน-ไทย ควรทราบว่า ยังมีเพื่อนๆ อีกมากมายที่เหมือนกันกับพวกเขา

เด็กๆ เหล่านั้น จะไม่โดดเดี่ยวในโลกที่กว้างไกล....
